Meet Beatie Deutsch.

A young ultra-Orthodox Jewish mother of five who is racing to fulfill her dream to be an Olympian. Athletic as a child, Beatie left sports behind when she moved to Israel and married her soulmate. In 2015, completely out of shape after her fourth baby in six years, she made a promise to herself that she would train and complete a marathon. Now, five years later, she has her sights set on Tokyo 2021 and beyond.

About Beatie

Runner. Dreamer. Mother of 5.

Beatie Deutsch is the Israeli national champion in the marathon and half marathon. As a mother of five young children, she has learned to apply her training to the real marathon of life. Beatie took up running just four years ago and recently went pro with the goal of qualifying for Tokyo 2020 and representing Israel in the Olympics. More than anything else, her journey has empowered her to dream big and keep pushing, a message Beatie is passionate about sharing with other women.

Beatie is active on social media, a powerful speaker and has inspired thousands around the world through her posts and speeches.

As an advocate for Beit Daniella, she has also made it her mission to help children struggling with mental health and raise awareness for this important cause. She is grateful for the opportunity to make a difference through her running.

Beatie proudly represents Israel on the international stage and she was named one of the 50 most influential Jews of 2019 by JPost.

Synopsis

Marathon Mom follows Beatie’s journey as she strives to race in the Olympic Games.

Suddenly cast into the spotlight as a representative of the entire Jewish people, how will Beatie handle the pressure? Can she still be a good wife and mother? Can she stay true to her values as an orthodox Jewish woman? Is her ambition really enough to make it to the elite level of Olympic Marathon runners and achieve the qualifying time of 2:29:30?

To quote Beatie, “Life is so much more than winning races or becoming famous … the only thing that truly defines us is the choices we make to expand our self, At the end of my life, that’s the only thing I’m going to take with me. I’m here to develop my soul to its fullest.”

In Marathon Mom, we watch her race to do just that.
